YESTERDAY’S WEATHER
Fine Day at Wellington Wellington experienced a net her fine, warm day yesterday. A Light southeasterly breeze prevailed in the morning and a north-westerly in the afternoon. The temperature at 4 p.m. was 77.3 degrees and the maximum for the day was Sl.l degrees. Hot weather prevailed in Palmerston North throughout the day. The sky was cloudy during the morning but the sun shone from a blue sky in the afternoon. Another day of intense heat was experienced at Mastertou. At 2 p.m the shade temperature was 811-1 degrees. Brilliant sunshine prevailed during the greater part of the day, and there was almost a total absence of winu The weather at Wangamt’ was exceptionally hot and there wa< very little wind. The sun shone brightly all day. The heat wave at Waipiikurau was unabated. The temperature ar 2.30 p.m. was 87 degrees and at 8 |> m it was 78 degrees. Another hot, cloudless day was experienced at Auckland. There was a light north-easterly breeze The temperature at 4 p.m. wiis 82 degrees. The barometer remained slightly below normal. The weather at Christchurch was cloudy with a fresh easr-nor’-east breeze The maximum temperature was 65.7 degrees. The barometer was fairly steady at about 30.0011) There was a continuation of fine, summer weather at Duned’i. with a strong north-east wind and passing clouds The maximum r°m pern I lire was 06 degrees. The barometer had a falling tendency and registsied 29.85 in. last evening.
