FORECAST FOR TO-DAY’S WEATHER.
Still fair and warm to hot. Following is the weather report and forecast issued by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, for 24 hours ending 4 p.m. to-day. An anti-cyclone, is moving across the Dominion, and a rather deep depression is advancing gradually over the Tasman Sea. . Forecast: Winds light to moderate and variable, but northerlies soon predommatSeas'smooth to moderate in New Zealand waters, but rising south of Cape Egniont. Moderate northerly winds increasing,in the southern portion of the eastern Tasman Sea: seas moderate but later rising. Weather still for the most part fair and -warm to hot, but cloud gradually increasing and rain developing shortly in the western and southern districts of the South Island. Some isolated thunderstorms probable. Rainfall at “The Dominion’’ Building for 24 hours ended midnight last night. Nil.
