Mrs. W. M. Sorenson has returned to Dannevirke from a visit to Auckland. Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Gaisford, Oringi, are visiting Napier.

Miss Beachy Cowper, Dannevirke, is visiting Wellington.

Miss Jean Samson, Wellington; is spending a holiday at New Plymouth.

Mrs. R. J. Marshall, Dunedin, has returned home from a visit to Mrs. M. J. McKay, Dannevirke. Mr. and Mrs. McKegg, Rarotonga, who have been visiting Wellington, left for the south last evening. Mrs. J. Friend, Invercargill, is the guest of Captain and Mrs. Boulton, "The Anchorage,” Buckingham Street.

Dr. P. V. Graves and Mrs. Graves have returned to Waverley from a motoring holiday in the South Island. Miss Gallagher, Wellington, is the guest of Mrs. A. D. Nelson, 'Wanganui, for race week. Mrs. W. L. Simmons and Miss P. 'Simmons have returned to Patea from Wellington.

Mrs. E. R. Dyer, London, is visiting New Zealand and is the guest of Mrs. Tancred Cooper, Wanganui.

Mrs. R. Dobson Adams, . Christchurch, is the guest of Mrs. Samson, Everton Terrace.

Mrs. H. S. Lawrence, Christchurch, and Miss Pamela Price, Gisborne,' are leaving by the Akaroa on Tuesday morning for a trip to England. Miss A. C. Howarde is leaving Wellington by the Marama to-day for Sydney. On her return to Wellington Miss Howarde will take up a position on the literary staff of National Magazines Ltd. ■*

Mrs. David Allan, Bolton,Street, who has been spending the last five weeks with her mother, Mrs. Donald MacDonald, Edendale, Otago, has returned to Wellington.

Mr. and Mrs. F. E. Haycock, Auckland, are the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Strachan, “Lornty,” 'Wanganui.

Miss J. Grant and Miss R. Ross, Dannevirke, have left for Wellington, en route to Christchurch, where they are to spend a holiday. Mr. and Mrs. S. Vicary, who have been visiting Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Franklin, Wanganui, have returned to the King Country. Dr. and Mrs. Charles Morice, Eccleston Hill, who are leaving for a trip to England by the Akarpa, are staying with Mrs. Frank Hay, Hill Street. Miss Yvonne Bendall, Tinakori Road, will leave Wellington on Monday to (connect with, the Port Gisborne at Auckland for a trip 'to England.

Mrs. F. L. Webb, who has been spending a six weeks’ holiday with her daughter, Miss Jocelyn Webb, Wellington, expects to return to Christchurch early next ■week. Mrs. H. W. Kelly and Miss Betty Kelly, Auckland, who have been visiting Mrs. Kelly’s mother, Mrs. J. 0. Standidge, Waipawa, are now spending a few weeks at Wanganui and Welling: ton.

Miss Phoebe Myers and her sister, Miss Bella Myers, who have been at Auckland since their return from England and the Continent, have taken up their residence at Flers Street, Karori. Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Gray and their two children, Mowbray Street, who have been* visiting relatives at Auckland, returned to Wellington by car yesterday. Miss Peggy Wright, Clermont Terrace, who, after visiting Taupo for the holiday season, took part in both the Waipawa and Waipukurau tennis tournaments, has returned to Wellington. Lady Buckleton and Miss Jean Buckleton will leave New Zealand this month by the Rotorua for a trip to England. Mrs. Innes Walker, Cassels Farm, Kiwitahi, Lady Buckleton’s eldest daughter, is staying with her at present. Mr. and Mrs. J. V. Wilson, Geneva, who have been spending some time at Christchurch, will arrive at Wellington on Sunday morning to spend ten days before sailing on their return journey to Europe. - Mr. and Mrs. J. Lyons and Miss W. Satchell, Hastings, Mr. and Mrs. D. Cameron and the Misses K. and M. Cameron, Wairarapa, Miss A. McLean and Mr. 11. A. Beauchamp, 'Wellington, were recent guests at the 'White Star Hotel, Queenstown.

Mr. and Mrs. Angus, Adelaide, who spent race week in Wellington, crossed to Blenheim by aeroplane and motored from there to Christchurch. . Mr. and Mrs. Angus were host and hostess to the Duke of Gloucester during his stay at Adelaide.

Members of the literary staff of “The Dominion” met in the Press Club yesterday afternoon to bld farewell to Mrs. T. W. Lewis, who will shortly sever her connection with the paper, and will leave for Hong-Kong, where she will join the staff of the Advertise ing and Publicity Bureau Ltd., of HongKong and Malaya, and will edit fl travel magazine. She will also act as organising secretary of a travel club. The editor, Mr. J. H. Hall, wished Mrs. Lewis every success in her new position, and on behalf of the literary staff presented her with a combination handbag and umbrella, and a leather writing case. Mr. C. J. McKinnon also conveyed the best wishes of the-staff.
