Separation Announced
ELIZABETH ALLAN, the Skegness, Lincolnshire, girl whose work in British films secured her a big Hollywood contract, has disclosed that she and her .husband, Mr. William p’Bryen, have decided to separate. They were married in 1932.
i The reason, said Miss Allan, was that her film work in Hollywood and Mr. O’Bryen’s business interests in London resulted in long enforced absences from each other. “It became increasingly evident that we are unable to adjust our personal /lives to fit circumstances. No other
consideration is involved in our Separation.” Mr. W. J. O’Bryen, who conducts, in partnership with Mr. S. E. Linnit and Mr. Jack Dunfee, one of the bestknown agencies for film players in London, said that the news from Hollyjvood had come as a surprise to him. “It Is true,” he said, “that we have been discussing the difficulties she has described, but I had still hoped for some amicable settlement.” Miss Allan’s recent films have included “Service,” “Men in White,” “The Mystery of Mr. X,” “A Woman of the World,” and “Java Head.”
