40,000 Boxes of Butter Sold in Dominion

It is estimated that about 40,000 boxes of butter, equal to 1000 tons, have been sold in New Zealand for shipment to New York. Most of the produce has been bought at Old. per lb. to 9|d. per lb. f.0.b., which is equal to 82/- to 84/per cwt. in London. The heaviest consignment of about 31,000 boxes is now being loaded in the Port Gisborne at Auckland. The vessel is scheduled to sail on February 6, and is due at New York on March 3. Smaller cargoes of butter for New York are also being shipped on vessels of the Canadian National Line. Practically all-the produce is being drawn from the Auckland Province. New York is also buying butter from London, and the turnover of 16,000 boxes in a fortnight was reported recently. The United States trade Ims given a marked stimulus to prices for butter in the Loudon market.
