Canonisation Ratified ('Received January 31, 7 p.m.) Vatican City, January So. The Pope has ratified the canonisation of Sir Thomas More and John Fisher. He has fixed Easter Day for the ceremony of canonisation. (Note on Page 9.) V cable dated January 20 stated that it. was expected that the four hundredth anniversarv of the martyrdom of Thomas More and John Fisher, who were beheaded in 1535 and beatified in 18S7, will be celebrated by their canonisation. Ills Holiness the Pope was receiving thousands of letters from England urging that More and Fisher were devoted supporters of Papal supremacy, aud the sacrament of marriage, which are important principles to-day.
