The “Daily Chronicle’s” Brussels correspondent says that King Leopold received at the Royal Palace a deputation of four unemployed who directed attention to the plight of the country’s 350,000 workless, pointing out that most were living on less than sixpence a day. “Sire, this cannot continue.” said the deputation’s spokesman, Julien Collinet, a metal worker. “Despite all the efforts of your Cabinets during the past five years the situation has grown worse.
