FORECAST FOR TO-DAY’S WEATHER.
Fair to fine, with rising temperatures. Following is the weather report and forecast issued by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, for 24 hours ending 4 p.m. to-day: - • An anti-cyclone of slight intensity now extends across the Dominion, nut a fresh and rather deep depression has formed over south-eastern Australia. Forecast: Light to moderate anil variable winds at first, but soon tending to northerly again and freshening about and south of Cook Strait. Seas smooth to moderate in New Zealand waters. Northerly winds freshening in the southern portion ot the eastern lasman Sea; seas moderate. , Weather fair to fine with rising temperatures, but gradually clouding over in western districts, and rain developing to-day on the west coast of the South Island. Rainfall at "The Dominion” Building for 24 hours ended midnight last night: Nil. Rainfall for January: 2.29 inches. , , . . Shade temperatures at “The Dominion’ Building during 24 hours ended at midnight last night: Maximum, 82 degrees; minimum, 64 degrees.
