Recording the Direction and Velocity of Wind— By means of a. weathervane above the building an orifice is kept facing the wind, and the wind pressure, through flexible tubes, seen descending from the top of this photograph, is transferred to a float chamber in the base of the instrument. The movement of the float with the variation of pressure is recorded on the revolving drum by the upper needle, the lower recording the movement of the vane with direction variation.
