MURITAI’S CRUISE

Excursion Season Ends

When yesterday afternoon the Muritai carried some 900 passengers on a cruise o£ the harbour waters, the Eastbourne ferry service brought to a close a very successful excursion season. On several occasions the Muritai has carried 800, and once as many as 1300 trippers. The increasing popularity of harbour cruising is not considered to be entirely due to the weather; it is in some measure a sign that 'Wellington folk are beginning to realise the possibilities of enjoyment offered by Port Nicholson.

Yesterday's trip was made particularly pleasant by the line weather. As usual a great number of children were aboard the Muritai, and these were greatly thrilled when “Captain Kidd,” in full pirate costume, boarded the vessel and spent the afternoon entertaining then!.
