OBITUARY

Mr. Harold Wood The death has occurred of Mr. Harold Wood, a member of the Nelson Education Board, reports a Press Association message from Nelson. He served on school committees, and was prominently associated 7 with the Baptist Church and other organisations, including those for the welfare of children. \ Mr. Harold E. Trimble The death has occurred of Mr. Harold E. Trimble, of Inglewood, at the age of TO, reports a Press Association message from New Plymouth. He was chairman of the StratfordTechnical High .School Board for the past twelve years. A sou of Colonel Trimble, one of the pioneers of Central Taranaki, he was chairman of the old Moa Road Board before it developed into the Inglewood County Council. He took a keen interest in education, being at one time a member of the Taranaki Education Board and one of the first to recognise the need for a more comprehensive type of high school at Stratford to supersede the old district high school. He gave the school the splendid library that has proved invaluable to the staff and pupils. As a justice of the peace Mr. Trimble took aii active part, in the work of the Taranaki Justices’ Association
