YESTERDAY’S WEATHER
Fine, Cloudless Day Yesterday was a line cloudless day in Wellington, with a northerly breeze prevailing. The temperature at 4 p.m. was 70.1 degrees, and the maximum for the day was 71.4 degrees. Hot, sunny weather, with a cloudless sky. prevailed in Palmerston North. .Masterton again sweltered throughout the day, the temperatures being unpleasantly high. The sky was cloudless and there was scarcely a breath of wind. Warm, sunny weather was experienced in "Wanganui, with a fair westerly breeze. At Waipukurau the heat continued unabated, with a maximum temperature at 2.15 p.m. of 89 decrees. There was no sign of the heat wave abating. A light variable wind and very hot weather prevailed in Auckland, the barometer continuing steady at 29.80 in. The weather at Christchurch was sunny and delightful, with a light east-north-east breeze. The maximum temperature was 80.7 degrees. There was a continuation of warm summer weather at Dunedin, the sun shining from a clear sky for the greater part of the day. A light easterly wind prevailed, rind the maximum temperature was 68 degrees.
