Man-Made Geyser.— The Lady Knox Geyser, at Waiotapu, near Rotorua, is now one of the most interesting spectacles in the thermal regions. It was once merely a boiling pool, but prisoners from a nearby camp found that soapy water made it spout. Rock was built round the pool and a splendid geyser is the result.
