ANNIVERSARY DAY

The Stock Exchange is closed. REGATTA AT SYDNEY Good Yachting Conditions (Received January 28, 10.5 p.m.) Sydney, January 28. The main attraction of the Anniversary Day holiday was the ninety-ninth annual regatta on the harbour. A myriad of small craft—yachts, launches, speedboats and skiffs—took part in the various events. R.M.S, Ormonde acted as flagship, while also to be seen was an old pad-dle-wheel boat. Yachtsmen enjoyed the conditions, a strong north-easter being ideal for racing, but most of the rowing events were postponed owing to choppy water.
