CASH ATHLETICS

Wellington Club Meeting A further meeting of the 'Wellington Cash Athletic and Cycling Club was held last evening. Mr. S. Baker-West presided. A letter was received from the Cash Cyclists’ Welfare League offering support and assistance to the club, and a similar letter was received from the Gisborne Cash Athletic and Cycling Club. Attention was drawn to the alleged suspension of an athlete by the amateur association for signing an attendance list at the first meeting of the club. The chairman stated that the paper in question did not bind anyone who signed it to any obligation to the professional club. Mr. Hunt said that it was the duty of the elub to endeavour to protect the man. but after some discussion it was decided not to take any further action. It was decided to approach the speed l way authorities with a view to holding a 106 yards professional event nt th" opening of the broadsiding season at Ki’birnie. Mr. L. Baker was elected to the committee.
