Racing Admission Charges (To the Editor.) Sir, —May I draw the attention of the racing public to the latest enforcement by the Wellington Racing Club, a decided imposition on the sporting public, which should by those in charge be immediately rectified, and that is the charge made for children on the lawns. On Saturday, having occasion to go to the races for the day, naturally taking the children, we were informed at the gate that we would have to pay It)/- for them; i.e.. half-priee for two of them, one child was six, the other nine. Taking everything into consideration, I wonder, being forearmed, how many of the patrons of racing will continue to attend under these latest stringent enforcements, as one going to the races generally does not allow his children to run the streets of Wellington.May we trust this Intest hard-up innovation will be modified by those concerned in the 'Wellington Racing Club if they wish race meetings to be well patronised and popular.—l am. etc.. FAIR PLAY. Wellington, January 28. ■ fAdmission charges to the Treutlmni racecourse are. and always have been, advertised in the race books. “Children half-price” has been the standard charge for years, and is no new enforcement.]
