Wellington Market
YESTERDAY'S QUOTATIONS
The Wellington stoek and share market was fairly active yesterday, 15 sales being recorded. There was a good demand for Government loans, the 3} per cent, stock. 1938-52. changing hands at £lO6/15/-. „ , J Banks were active. New Zealanus showed a further easing, with a late sale on Saturday at 50/6.. and one yesterday at 50/-, with late buyers offering 49/0, and sellers asking .50/2. The D long term were also easier, selling i. at 29/-. Reserve Banks were very firm, with a sale at £6/13/-. Insurance shares were very firm, New Zealands selling late on Satanday at 71/-, while there was a sale ot Standards yesterday at 72/6. Gear Meat were done at 21/9, and Wellington Woollens, both ordinary and preference, sold at £5/16/-. British Tobaccos were easier, wjth a sale at 3J/-, while Colonial Sugars were done at £4l 5/-. The mining section was quiet, Waihis easing to a sale at 39/IJ. The latest buying and selling quotations recorded on the Wellington Stock Exchange yesterday were as follow N.Z. GOVT. LOANS.
