Although there were no miraculous cures, no crutches thrown away and no spectacular emotional incidents during the faith healing services, many among the 200 sufferers from paralysis, arthritis and other malignant diseases and mental disorders declare that the Rev. John Maillard’s laying-on of hands “electrified” them like a surge of new life, giving a peace and power not previously felt. All declare that they have been greatly helped. The suppliants were mostly women, many so crippled that they were unable to kneel at the altar rails. ' Mr. Maillard possesses letters from cured people, one of whom was bedridden for two years with arthritis. Another was cured of cancer in five weeks, and a third •■tired of a tumor on the brain.
