Fine, But Windy, in Wellington
At Wellington the weather was fine and sunny on Saturday, with a'strong north-west wind all day. The maximum temperature was 73.7 degrees, and the minimum, 62.0 degrees. Yesterday was warm and 'sultry, and at times, cloudy. A moderate ’ to fresh northwesterly wind prevailed.
The weather was fine and sunny in Palmerston North on Saturday, with a strong westerly wind. Sunday was overcast with a light westerly wind. Brilliant sunshine prevailed at Masterton at the week-end. There was a moderate westerly breeze on both days. The weather in Wanganui was fine and warm. The winds of the past few days had moderated considerably. ilot weather and moderate southwest winds again prevailed at Auckland. After being steady at 29.85 in. since Friday evening, the barometer fell slightly yesterday afternoon. The weather was tine iu Christchurch on Saturday, with hot sun and a strong north-west breeze. The maximum temperature was 86 degrees. The barometer read 29.40 in. at 5 p.m. Yesterday was dull and threatening, with a light easterly breeze. A strong north-west wind and warm weather prevailed at Dunedin on Saturday. Bright sunshine wa's recorded until 4.30 pan., when the wind suddenly changed to the south-west and a heavy rain squall was experienced. The maximum temperature was 83 degrees, but with a change of wind the temperature quickly fell, the thermometer registering 58 degrees at 6 p.m. Sunday was overcast and dull, with scattered showers. The temperature was eool, the maximum being 61 degrees. Tlie barometer was unsteady at about 29.60 inches.
