Ministerial. The Hon. Adam Hamilton, Postmas-ter-General, returned to Wellington from the north by tlie Limited express on Saturday morning. He will leave for the South Island by the inter-island express steamer this evening. Sir Charles Clifford was in Wellington for the races on Saturday. He left for the south in the evening. Sir Cyril Ward, Vice-Consul for Belgium at Christchurch, has had the honour of Chevalier of the Order of the Crown of Belgium conferred upon him by his Majesty King Leopold 111 of Belgium by a Royal decree dated November 22, 1934. This is for services given in his official position. This is the second order Sir Cyril has received, the previous one being Chevalier of the Order of Leopold 11, conferred upon him by King Albert I on December 25, 1925. Tlie Rev. Canon J. H. Sykes, who has been vice-president of the Kiiibirnie Cricket Club for about 20 years, was farewelled and was presented with a framed photograph of last year’s team prior to the commencement of Saturday’s play. Mr. W. J. Gaiidiu, patron of the club, made the presentation. Canon Sykes is going to Manaia. Mr. Walter Norwood left for Christchurch on Saturday evening. Mr. J. M. Dobie. manager of the Union Steam Ship Company’s Timaru office, left for the south on Saturday. Mr. J. W. G. Brodie, of British and Dominion Traders, lias returned to Wellington from Christchurch. Mr. Otto Kresse, Christchurch, was a passenger to Wellington from the south yesterday. Mr. J. M. Gamble, Wellington, was a passenger for the south on Saturday evening. Mr. and Mrs. R. Inglis, who have been visiting New Zealand, will return to Sydney at the end of the week. Dr. R. F. Thomas, Gisborne, was a passenger from Wellington for the south on Saturday evening. Mr. D. Westenra and Mrs. Westenra, who were in Wellington for (he races, have returned to the south.. Captain R. S. Bainbridge, a retired British sea captain, now of London, and Mrs. Bainbridge, are touring the South Island. 'The Rev. L. Broadbent and Mrs. Broadbent, of London, will arrive at Wellington from England by the Tainui on February 4. and will leave almost immediately for Sydney and Melbourne. Mr. C. G. White, a director of the Union Steam Ship Co., lias returned to Wellington from a brief visit to Christchurch. Mr. W. T. Ikin, manager for New Zealand of the Australian Mutual Provident Society, returned to Wellington from Auckland on Saturday morning. Mr. N. D. Pixley, of McDonald. Hamilton and Co., Sydney, managing agents for (he Eastern and Australian Steam Ship Co., has arrived in Wellington from Auckland, and is staying nt tlie Hotel St. George. Inspector G. B. Edwards, who has been transferred from Auckland to take charge of the Wellington police district, has arrived in Wellington, accompanied by his wife. Prior to his departure he was presented with a chiming clock from the officers and men of the Auckland Central Station.
