Mrs. L. J. Barnard ■ of London, is arriving in Wellington by the Otranto on February 0.
Mrs. J. S.‘ McLeod and Miss Audrey McLeod returned to Hastings from Wellington on Saturday. Mrs C. J.~ B. Norwood and her daughter, Mrs. L. A. George, left Wellington on Saturday for Christchurch. Mrs. H. Stewart, Auckland, is visiting her sister, Mrs. R. Lilburn, in Wanganui.

Mrs Oldham, of Greymonth, Is the guest of Mr. and Mrs. Alee Crawford in Wanganui.
Mrs. 1 H. Collier, Marton, and her guest, Mrs. Herbert Meads, of Sydney, are spending a holiday at Cqstiecliff.
Miss M. Chapman, who has been visiting relatives in Dunedin has returned to Wellington. Miss Clare Lyford, Featherston, is visiting Wellington and is the guest of her sister, Mrs. Hugh Askew, Brooklyn.
Miss Nancy Rabe has returned to Wellington from a holiday • in Queen Charlotte Sounds. Mrs. V. E. Harris, Springs f ou South, and hef sister, Miss Marian Williams; Te Awa, South Canterbury, are visiting Wellington. ,
Mrs. W. G. Hughson, Karorl, has returned from Christchurch, where she has been staying with her father, Mr. A. H. Bristed.
Mrs. Gordon Babbage,'Auckland, who has been visiting in the Wellington and ■Wanganui districts, is now staying with Mrs. E. Rutherford, Stratford. Mrs. Piaggi and her family, who have been spending the holidays with Mrs, Tricker, Pigeon Bush, have returned to their home, accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Hermans, Wanganui.' Mrs. Douglas Stewart, Te Ore Ore, Masterton, who has been spending a holiday in Wellington as 'the guest of her sister, Mrs. Hugh Askew, has returned to her home.
Mr. and Airs. Reading and Miss Betty Reading will return to Wellington on_ Wednesday morning after spending a month in Dunedin as the guests of Sir John Sinclair. Miss Pauline Jeffreys, Ricearton, Christchurch, will leave oo Wednesday for Wellington to stay with Miss Valmai Kelly. Miss Jeffreys will be bridesmaid for Miss Kelly at her wedding to Mr. lan Cromb, of Christchurch, on Tuesday, February 12. Mr. and Mrs. P. N. Jeffreys will also be visitors to Wellington for the occasion. GIRL CITIZENS Conference in Progress Girls from all over the Dominion are gathered at Blockhouse Bay, Auckland, where the conference of the Girl Citizen Movement in New Zealand is now in progress. At tl“e official opening on Wednesday afternoon, Miss Phyllis Hindle, as leader, explained the watchword of the conference—“ Under Heaven One Family.” The leaders include Miss Nessie Moncrieff, M.A., who has spent the last 4j years as student secretary in the Y.W.C.A., Peiping, China, and Miss Jean Stevenson, National Generar Secretary of the Y.W.C.A. jn New Zealand, who has recently returned from attending the world council of the association in Geneva. Besides the consideration of the future policy and .development of the movement, the girls have before them a full and educational range of activities. Bible study occupies an important place, and in addition the girls are studying dramatics and such handicrafts as pottery and poster-work, under the direction of Miss Meg Saunders and Miss Olive Jones, who has been studying handicrafts abroad.
