FATAL INJURIES
Well-known Dirt Track Racer’s Death By Telegraph—Press Assoeiation. Christchurch January 27. Charles Blacklock, aged 26. a wellknown dirt-track racer, died in hospital to-day following injuries received in an accident at the opening meeting of the broadsiding season ar Monica Park speedway on Saturday evening. The accident happened in the second lap of the eighth event D Higgins, whom Blacklock was attempting ro pass on the north fiend opposite the grandstand, fell, causing Blacklock, who struck his machine ti be thrown heavily. Ken Kirkman who was following up fast, could not avoid the two machines and also crashed injuring his wrist. Blackloek was •loconscious when picked up He was 'muiediately taken to hospital His injuries which were very grave, wore to "'io head mid face.
