As a result of an accident, in Upper Hutt about 10.30 p.m. on Friday. Victor Ranald!. motor mechanic, of Masterton. was charged before Messrs. J. T. Benge and IV. Greig. J.P.'s, in the Upper Hutt Magistrate’s Court on Saturday witli being found in a state of intoxication while in charge of motor-car He was lined £l5. ft was explained that defendant had collided with a cyclist while driving through the township The cyclist escaped injury, but the cycle was con siderably damaged, being carried in front of tlte motor-car for a considerable distance.
