East Coast Airways Plans For Service APPOINTMENTS MADE By Telegraph—Press Association. Gisborne, January 25. At a meeting of the directors of the East Coast Airways, Ltd., to-night the following appointments were made: Squadron-Leader T. M White, formerly of Hawke’s Bay, now of Sydney to be chief pilot; Flying-Officer Kirkup. instructor to the Christchurch Aero Club, to be assistant pilot; Mr. L. Mangham, Palmerston North, to be ground engineer. Over thirty applications from England, Canada, Australia and New Zealand were received for the pilots’ positions and forty applications for that of ground engineer. The service will run twice daily between Gisborne and Napier. Two standard ten-seater -two-engined De HaviUand liners have been ordered from England and are expected to land here by April 1. The service will start Immediately.
