MRS. CALDOW BEATEN

Croquet Championships NEW ZEALAND PLAYERS ELIMINATED (Received January 25, 11.53 p.m.) Melbourne, January 25. After four wins Mrs. Caldow (New Zealand) suffered her first defeat in the croquet championships to-day. Both the English captain, Du Pre, and the Australian captain, C. J. Miller, have now suffered defeats. The only undefeated players are J. C. Windsor and W. T. McCleery, both Victorians. New Zealander’s matches to-day resulted: J. E. Witherow (Melbourne), defeated Mrs. Caldow, who was also defeated by R. Poulter (England). No New Zealanders are left in the play to-morrow.
