YESTERDAY’S WEATHER
Threatening at Wellington It was again cloudy and threatening in Wellington yesterday. A strong north-westerly wind blew throughout the day with frequent gusts up to 50 m.p.h. The temperature at 4 p.m. was 65.5" deg., and the maximum during the day 68.8 deg. The weather was boisterous in Palmerston North, with a westerly wind, of gale force. Conditions were warm. A gusty wind from the west which frequently reached gale force, was again experienced at Masterton. The sky was overcast throughout the day and there was an occasional shower of rain. Boisterous weather was experienced in Wanganui, with showers in the early morning. A strong north-west wind blew throughout the afternoon. Warm weather was experienced at Waipukuraii. with a strong, hot westerly wind, becoming cooler late in the afternoon. The maximum temperature was S 4 degrees at 1.15 p.m., falling to 72 degrees at 7 p.m. The barometer is low, but rising slowly. Fine weather, with a moderate south-west wind prevailed in Auckland. The barometer rose to 29.85 in. The weather in Christchurch was fine with some clouds and a very strong W.N.W. wind in the afternoon. The maximum temperature was 82.4 degrees. The barometer, after rising steadily, is now 29.50 in. There was a continuation of unsettled weather at Dunedin. Rain fell shortly after daybreak and conditions were overcast throughout the day. A fresh north-east wind was blowing aud lhe maximum temperature was 64 degrees. Tlie barometer, which registered 29.20 at mid-day, had a rising tendency in the afternoon
