Australian pheasant eggs imported for breeding purposes recently had proved a failure, it was reported to the meeting of the North Canterbury Acclimatisation Society. Not one egg hatched. Ranger J. Digby suggested that the hot weather on the voyage caused the trouble, as the eggs were carefully packed and turned daily. This was the second consignment of eggs which had failed after importation from Australia.
