Wellington Market Steady YESTERDAY’S QUOTATIONS There was more activity on the Wellington Stock and Share Market yesterday, with prices generally steady, there was again not such a strong demand for Government loans, while there were more sellers on the market than for some time past. The only sale was of 3} per cent, stock, 1938-52, at £lO6/15/-. Bank of Australasias were firm with two sales at £ll/12/6, while Commercial of Australias improved slightly, with buyers at 16/5, sellers asking 16/9. new ' Zealands were again easier, with buyers down to 50/-, and sellers dropping to 50/8, while the D Long Term, with a sale at 29/3, was also easier. Insurance shares were again very firm. Breweries were in good demand. The mining seefion was fairly Quiet, Waihi Grand Junetions changing hands at 4/10, and Mount Morgans at 40/-. INCREASED BUSINESS •/ . . A.M.P. Society Year Mr. W. T. Ikin, manager for New Zealand of the A.M.P. Society, has received the following cable from his head office in Sydney:—“Pleased to advise new business, 1934, ordinary department £13,731,677, industrial department £4,229,807. Total, £17,961,484. Increase on 1933, £2,345,000. Splendid result, all have share congratulations.” In New Zealand the ordinary department new business was £2,899,562, being an increase of £550,097 on the previous year, and the industrial department new business, £515,660, being an increase of £38,589 on 1933. A GILT-EDGE INVESTMENT. TRUSTEE SECURITY. An important and soundly administered Electric-power Board is desirous of raising £lO,OOO for a term of 23 years, with interest at 3} per cent, or near offer. The Board would prefer the amount, if possible, in one sum, but would consider amounts of about £2500 each. By Act of Parliament, this investment is classified as a Trustee Security, and is therefore one that should appeal to those with money to invest.
