Plan For Rationalisation (British Official Wireless.) (Received January 24, 5.5 p.m.) Rugby, January 23. A scheme for adj lusting the supply of tonnage to demand lias been drafted at the preliminary jeonferenee of the international shipping conference which Las been meeting in London and at which 17 countries were represented. This was announced in a long communique issued to-day which gives ‘ survey of the sroblemk but does not give details of the proposed scheme, which will lie submilted to shipowners’ associations in the different countries. They will examine it with a view to a further consideration by a full meeting of conference, if necessary after a further preliminary meeting. It is understood, however, that the scheme follows the broad line of tlie rationalisation plan for oil tankers which was introduced last May.
