Mrs. Caldow Unbeaten in Singles (Received January 25, 12.40 a.m.) Melbourne, January 24. New Zealanders’ matches in the centenary croquet championships today resulted:—C. J. Miller (Victorian champion) defeated Stratton (New Zealand; Mrs. Terry and J. C. Windsor (Victoria) defeated Mrs. Caldow and F. Hartnell (New Zealand) ; Du Pre (English champion) defeated Mrs. Corbett (New Zealand). The New Zealand champion, F. C. Hartnell, has not yet shown his true skill. Stratton is playing better than on his last visit five years ago. The New Zealand woman champion, Mrs. Caldow, remains undefeated in the singles. Yesterday’s results included Mrs. Caldow (New Zealand) defeated Mrs. Tenny. Miss Morrison defeated Hartnell (New Zealand), Ward Petley (England) defeated Mrs. Corbett (New Zealand). J. C. Windsor defeated Stratton (New Zealand), Misses Morrison and Burn© defeated Mrs. Caldow and Hartnell (New Zealand). Mesdanies Dowling and Craig defeated Mrs. Corbett and Stratton (New Zealand)!
