WOMEN CRICKETERS
No Official Functions An English women’s cricket team will arrive at Wellington by cur from Wanganui on February 4. and will pluy at the Bmsin Reserve the following day leaving for the south the same evening. During their stay in Wellington, the team will be (he guests of the Wellington Ladies’ Cricket Association al the Grand Hotel. At the special request of the team, no official functions will he held, but an informal picture evening will lie given for them. The uniform for the Wellington team will be while gym. frocks, white shirt blouse, white caps, and white tennis sox. with the W.L.C.A badge on the gym. frock and cap, in yellow and biack. In a letter received from a member of the English team >t was stated that the strain of the tour was proving rather great in Australia, and for that reason t]iey were having to cancel manv official funedion--. They specially requested that they be allowed to visit New Zealand as a ho'iday tour.
