Tlie question of the location of next year’s session of the New Zealand University Senate was under discussion, and Mr. L. D. Ritchie asked what benefit there was through the Senate sitting in Christchurch. Wellington was the central and most convenient place. He could not see the use of visiting the various centres. “You forget,” interrupted a member, “should you not ask what benefit Christchurch has received through the Senate sitting here?” Eventually Auckland was decided on as the venue.
