wairarapa trotting March Meeting Planned Dominion Special Service. Mastirton, January 24. After considerable discussion as to whether or not a successful meeting could be held in Jlareh, it was decided, at a meeting of the stewards of the Wairarapa Trotting Club, that nominations ba called for the meeting, and if these are not satisfactory the meeting be cancelled. The motion was carried after an amendment that no meeting be held had been defeated. The president, Air. J. K. Thompson, said that if all accounts could be balanced then the meeting 'should be conducted, but, in his own opinion, he felt sure that the elnb would lose on the meeting, as last year a loss of £33 had been shown, while, despite the excellence’of the Boxing Day meeting, that bad also shown a loss. The programme as drawn up for the proposed meeting in March was fimil'y approved. CITY HANDICAP, of C2.’>o. Six furlongs.
