BRITISH RAILWAYS
Companies and Unions AGREEMENT REACHED (British Official Wireless.) (Received January 23, 5.5 p.m.) Rugby, January 22. A satisfactory conclusion was reached to-day to discussions between representatives of leading railway companies and. railwaymen’s unions upon the reorganisation of the existing machinery of conciliation and negotiation. Proposals were ■ unanimously agreed upon which will be recommended to both sides for adoption. The agreement concerns 400,000 railways workers and deals with all questions arising out of conditions of service and makes suitable provision tor discussion of matters of mutual interest to staff and management outside the actual service.
