Following the finding of gold pieces on the lonely island of Monte Cristo, a search is to bo made for the treasure of the hero of Dumas’s novel. The find was made near the watch tower, which figures in the novel, by fishermen from Corsica, and the story of their discovery brought to light the fact that other visitors to the island had made similar gold finds. An expedition to hunt for the treasure is being organised, according to a report from Leghorn, Italy.
