FORECAST FOR TO-DAY’S WEATHER.
Mostly fair; becoming’ warmer. Following is the weather report and forecast issued by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, for 24 hours ending at 4 p.m. to-day; ■ The recent depression is now located to the cast of New Zealand, and an anticyclone of moderate intensity is advancing over the north lasman Sea. Pressure has falleu again, however, over south-eastern Australia. Forecast: Moderate to fresh south-westerly winds predominating, but veering to north-west again soon south of New Plymouth and Castlepoint. Seas rough about Foveaux Strait and rather rough on all the west coast; elsewhere in New Zealand waters moderate. Moderate south-west winds and moderate seas in the northern portion of the eastern Tasman Sea; freshening west to north-west winds, with rough seas, in the southern portion. . , , , . „ , . ~ Weather for the most part fair to fine, but some isolated showers ;u first in the South Island. Later conditions becoming unsettled again in Westland, with rain developing. Temperatures cool last night, but becoming warmer again from to-day. Rainfall at ‘‘The Dominion” Building for 24 hours ended at midnight last night: Nil. Rainfall for January to date: 2.01 inches. Shade temperature at “The Dominion” Building during 24 hours ended at midnight last night: Maximum 74 degrees; m inimum, 58 degrees.
