The Shaw, Savill steamer Fordsdale left London last Thursday afternoon for Suva, Port Chalmers. Lvttelton and Napier. She is due at Port Chalmers on February 28. BENHOLM DUE. Wireless advice from the A. and A- Line’s chartered steamer Benholm states that she will arrive at Auckland from New York this morning. The vessel’s general cargo is for discharge at Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin and Australia. ROTORUA TO-DAY. The New Zealand Shipping Company'* liner Rotorua, which is to arrive at. 7 a.m. this morning from London, will berth at the Queen’s Wharf. No. 1 south. The liner will disembark passengers only at Wellington. and will sail again later to-day to discharge at Port Chalmers, Lyttelton, Timaru and Nelson. THE WAIPAWA’S LOADING. The Shaw. Savill motor-ship Waipawa, now at Auckland loading for London, via the Panama Canal, will come direct to Wellington when she leaves there. She is due here on Saturday, and will leave again on Tuesday for Napier. Her final date of sailing is still January 31. CAMBRIDGE TO SAIL. The Federal Company’s Cambridge, now loading at the Glasgow Wharf, will sail to-day for London. Avonmouth. Liverpool and Glasgow, via the Panama Canal. COPTIC'S PORTS. The Shaw, Savill steamer Coptic sailed from Brisbane on Saturday last. She is to load at New Plymouth on January 25, and afterward at Auckland, Napier, Wellington. Wanganui and Port Chalmers. She is due here from February 7 to February 12. and will sail from Port Chalmers on February 21 for Southampton, London and Hull, via the Panama Canal. WAIKAWA RADIOS. The .Union Steam Ship Company have received a radio message from the steamer Waikawa, stating that she will reach Auckland from Los Angeles, via Apia, on Saturday morning. She brings cargo for discharge at Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton. Dunedin and Australia, and is due here about January 30. PORT GISBORNE. Loading for London. Liverpool and Glasgow. the Commonwealth and Dominion Line’s Port Gisborne is due here this morning from Port Chalmers. The vessel will sail again later to-day for New Plymouth and Auckland, and will clear finally on February 5, sailing by way of Cape Horn and Dakar. CANADIAN BRITISHER ARRIVES. The Canadian Britisher, owned by Canadian National Steamships, which left Halifax on December 6. arrived yesterday morning at Auckland. The Britisher will call at Napier. Wellington (due here on January 28). Lyttelton and Dunedin. and will sail on February 3 for New, York, Boston and Halifax. MESS-TABLE GOSSIP. Mr. R. M. Waller is now assistant engineer of the Gael, relieving Mr. G. Montegue. Mr. It. D. Brebner lias been appointed first officer of the Opihi in place of Mr. F. D. Johnson. Mr. B. M. Hurley has joined the Tamaliine as purser, vice Mr. A. E. Edmundson, who has relieved Mr. W. H. Craik on the Rangatira for holidays. AORANGI’S PASSENGERS. Primarily because there is no prospect of substantial migration to Australia for some considerable time, the Orient Line is converting the emigrants’ accommodation on the liners Orford and Orontes to tourist class Similar conversion ou other ships will be considered later. The Orford will go to Vickers-Armstrong’s yards in midsummer, so as to enable her to make her first voyage with the* new tourist accommodation on October 2G. The Orontes will ho converted in 1936. The conversion will also help to cope with the increased demand for tourist class accommodation. LONDON'S SHIPPING. During the week ended December 7. 1210 vessels representing 1.015,445 net register tons, used the Port of London: 495 vessels (775.25 S net register tons) were*to and from Emnire and foreign ports; and 715 vessels (237.157 net register tons) were engaged iu coastwise traffic. ‘ The arrivals included 12 meat cargoes, -nr.., four from Australia, two from New Zealand two from South America, and four from' North America, comprising IG4.O<l<l carcases of lamb and mutton. 71.000 quarters of beef, quantities of i>ork, rabbits and sundries. During the month of November, 2o vessels totalling 195,870 gross register tons, used the Port of London Authority’s Tilbury passenger landing stage.
