A few facts for the consideration of farmers having surplus stock to dispose of. The Wanganui District price level is usually higher than the South Island. As an instance fat lamb schedule is now 7jd. per lb., fat wethers 24/- per head and average fat ewes .11/6. buyers paying transit charges from farm. FREIGHT and WHARFAGE is only 2/3 per head. Fordell Snleyards are only a few miles from the Wharf. No yard fees are charged; the Yards are owned by the Company. Sales are held every Tuesday. Fordell is the best market iu the North Island for wethers and lambs, especially small lambs, as a result of competition from dairy farmers of Taranaki. At the last two Fordell Sales Sounds sheep have topped the market. Sounds sheep do well in these district®. We do not recommend consigning of sheeping showing half-bred unless growers are prepared to pay an extra shilling per head to semi them on to Raetilii where there is a demand for finer woolled sheep. The officer controlling the live stock operations at Wanganui Branch, Mr. A. J. Parris, knows most of the Sounds sheep and an approximate idea of the prices likely to be realised for any line can be given if full particulars are forwarded to us by letter, telegram, or after hours to PHONE NO. 3425, WANGANUI. At present our prices appear to he fully as high as Canterbury while transit charges are very much less. N.Z. LOAN AND MERCANTILE AGENCY CO.. LTD., WANGANUI. TENDERS. PLASTER. PLASTER.
