General: Mining and treatment operations were .-iffected by lhe holiday interrupt ion. Wetherstones Reopening Wetherstones Goldmining Co.. I,til (Otago), reports that operations were suspended for four months, during wliieli time a complete geophysical survey of (lie company’s claim was made. This was necessary owing to :t serious fault, having been discovered at the location of the incline shaft. Proposals for the future development of the claim have been pre pared'by the cnmpanv's engineers in conjunction with tlie Alines Department and the Department of Industrial Research. Financial arrangements have been made which will permit of a definite in-ogrammc extending over five months, and during lhe period of operations the engineers anticipate that tliey will then lie able to definitely prove the extent of the "old values. The mine manager anticipates flint lie will lie operating three full shifts within about two weeks.
