'Thomas, Dominions Secretary, lias invited all the Dominion representatives to meet himself and Mr. Elliot, Minister of Agriculture, on January 22 in connection with Britain’s meat proposals. CANADA’S PROGRAMME Expanding Empire Trade Ottawa, January 17. In the Speech from the Throne given at the opening of Parliament, members were asked to consider policies designed to consolidate and expand Empire trade agreements and increase world trade generally. The policy of the Government would be to work toward arms reduction and stabilised international economic relations. There would also be unemployment and health insurance, improved old age pensions and a minimum wage and a maximum working week.
