Strong Wind at Wellington The weather was cloudy and threatening at Wellington yesterday. A strong north-westerly wind prevailed, and several gusts of up to 64 miles an hour occurred before 10.15 a.m. Later, although still reaching gale force at times, the wind moderated somewhat. The day was one of the hottest tills summer. A light westerly -wind and very hot weather prevailed at Auckland, conditions being cloudy during the morning. The barometer was falling since midday. The weather was overcast and threatening at Christchurch. A strong south-west 'wind was blowing. The barometer rose during the day, but registered only 29.62 in. at 5 p.m. Light showers fell in the late afternoon. Unsettled weather was experienced at Dunedin.
