PICNIC AT HUTT PARK

Kilbirnie Soldiers’ Club The first annual picnic of the Kilbirnie. Soldiers’ Club was held at the Hutt Park last Sunday. There was a total attendance of approximately 150, comprising members, their families, and friends. Icecream, sweets, fruit, and soft drinks were .provided for the children. Cricket, tennis, and other games were played, and a number of races were held. These were keenly contested, the winning competitions being as follow: — Tiny tots’ race: Boys, Jack Charters. Girls, Dulcie Capes. Three to six years: 'Dawn Wil-bond. Six to eight years, girls, Joyce Morris; boys, Jim Taylor. Eight to 11 years, girls, Beth Wallace; boys, Bob Johnson. Eleven to 14 years, girls, Norma Taylor; boys, Fred Bradnock. Ladies’ race: Mrs. Edmondson. Jlen’s race: Mr. G. Jones. , Single ladies’ race: Jliss Joan D PosiSingle men’s race: Mr. W. Trilford. Ladies’ mat race: Mrs. Edmondson. .Men's mat race: Mr. O. Smith. Family relay race: Jlr. and Jlrs. and Joan D’Postine. . The outing was so thoroughly enjoyed by everyone that the committee has received, many requests to arrange for a further picnic at an early date.
