Mrs. C. E. Macmillan and the Misses U. and V. Macmillan have returned to their home at Brooklyn after having spent a few weeks at Tauranga.
Miss Jessie Forbes is the guest of Mrs. A. H. Forbes, Opawa, Canterbury. Mrs. A. V. Shorter, Lower Hutt, is staying at the Grand Hotel, Auckland. Miss Hope Pascoe, Wellington, is staying at Rafa Downs, Kaikoura. Miss Lorimer, who has been holidaying in the north, has returned to Sayes Court.
Mr. and Mrs. W. Kemble Welch, Karori, returned last evening from a trip to Akaroa.
Dr. and Mrs. Alan Park, The Terrace, and their children are spending a holiday at Paraparaumu.
Miss Sinclair Breen, Welling-ton, is the guest of Mrs. R. McAlister, Blackwood Bay.
Mrs. David Whyte and her son Roger left this morning for a visit to Waiinarama beach. Miss Frances Stevens left by the Wanganella this week for a visit to relatives at Sydney. Dr. and Mrs. Giesen, Lower Hutt, went south by last evening’s steamer express.
Miss Widopp is an Auckland visitor to Wanganui, the guest of Mrs. R. Oldaker.
Miss Joan Herdman, Auckland, who has been visiting Hawke’s Bay, returned north last evening.
The Misses Joan and Miliicent Ince, Broadway, Mangaweka, are staying with the Misses Allan at Muritai.
Mrs. Phil. Hunter, who has been the guest of Mrs. W. Birch, 'Wanganui, has returned to Palmerston North. Mrs. D. Christie and Miss Marshall are Wanganui visitors to New Plymouth.
Mrs. W. Young and Miss Young were Wellington visitors to Wanganui for the Grace-Duncan wedding. Dr. Marian Whyte passed through Wellington yesterday on her way to her home at Dunedin from a holiday spent in Hawke’s Bay.
Mrs. H. C. Skeen, and family, Herne Bay, Auckland, are visiting Masterton, where they are staying with Mrs. R. J. King.
Mrs. W. Preshaw, Wellington, and Miss M. Preshaw are the guests of Mr. H. J. Cameron, “Glenmore.” Turakina.'
Mrs. P. J. Ryan, Boulcott Street, who has been visiting her sister, Mrs. P. O'Neill, Wanganui, has returned to Wellington.
Mrs. and Miss Lockwood, Wellington, who have been visiting Mrs. S. A. Dunn and Mrs. Ralph, Greytown, returned home yesterday. Mrs. W. S. Allen is returning to Gisborne to-morrow after spending the holidays at Wellington and on the West Coast.
Miss Olga Fitchett, daughter of the Bishop of Dunedin, passed through Wellington on her way to join the Rangitata at Auckland, en route to England. Miss Joan Palmer, who has been visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. F. S. Palmer, Christchurch, has returned to Wellington.
Mrs. Jack Russell, Onga Onga, Hawke’s Bay, is the guest of her sister, Mrs. B. E. Murphy, Grove Road, Kelburn.
Mr. and Mrs. H. AV. Reid and Miss Edna I. Reid, Dunedin, are paying a short visit to Wellington, and are the guests of Mrs. F. M. Reid, Kelburn. Mr. and Mrs. H. M. Dykes, Dundas Street, with Mr. and Mrs. Charles Dykes, Christchurch, have gone for a motor trip to Invercargill. Mrs. R. Fleming Crawford, formerly of Dunedin, has, with her three daughters, taken up her residence at Astor Flats, Hobson Street.
'’Dr. and Mrs. Mellraith, Lednam Flats, Tinakori Road, who have been visiting Tauranga and the Chateau, have returned borne.
Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Myers arrived from Dunedin yesterday morning and are the guests of Sir Michael and Lady Myers, Upland Road. Miss Alice Law, LIR.A.M., is at Paraparaumu Beach, and will visit Wellington later to attend the musicians’ conference, for which she is a delegate from Auckland.
The Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union visitors now in Christchurch paid a visit to Lincoln College on Thursday morning as the guests of Mrs. R. E. Alexander. In the afternoon they were entertained by Mrs. J. Cracroft Wilson at a garden party at her home, “Cashmere House.” Canon and Mrs. W. S. Bean, Christchurch, and Miss Mollie Bean will arrive at Wellington on Tuesday morning for the wedding of Mrs. Bean’s niece Miss Marjorie Morice, to Mr. Barry Blundell, which will take place on Wednesday. Canon Bean will officiate at the ceremony.
Mr. and Mrs. Alex Balliugall, who have been for the last two years living abroad, will return to Wellington to morrow by the Remuera, and will stay with their daughter and son-in-law. Mr. and Mrs. D. S. Wilson. Fairview Terrace.
Mention was made at the executive meeting of the Women’s Division of the Farmers' Union at Christchurch on Wednesday of the departure in two months’ time of the editress of the division's magazine, Mrs. T. R. Barter, on a trip to England. Mrs. C. K. Wilson was appointed to act in Mrs. Barrer's stead during her absence. Mrs. Barrer was appointed as the division's representative to the Associated Countrywomen of the World, an organisation with which the division has lately decided to affiliate.
' Mr. R. K. Si'bthorpe, the singer and playwright, and his wife have arrived at Christchurch after three years’ absence in England, and are staying with Mrs. Hartley, Merivale. During their stay in England, Mr. Sibthorpe has been studying voice production with Professor Ernest I. White, and interpretation with Mr. Plunket Greeve. A three-act comedy, “Fortune Favours Fools,” which Mr. Sibthorpe wrote just before his return, will, it is hoped, be presented in a West End Theatre some time this year. Two of his film scenarios are also under consideration for production by a leading American syndicate. Mr. and Mrs. Si'bthorpe will reside at Christchurch.
Sir Alexander and Lady Godley, who have been the guests of Sir Heaton Rhodes, Otahuna, Canterbury, are now staying with Mr. and Mrs. George Gould, Christchurch.
