Wellington Market Active YESTERDAY’S QUOTATIONS There was more activity on the Wellington stock and .share market yesterday, 22 sales being recorded. Government loans were again in steady demand, with few sellers. The 4 per cent, bonds, 1049, changed hands at £lO6/10/-, and the lOaa’s at £lO9/17/6. Banks were actively traded. Australasias were done at £ll/12/6, Nationals of New Zealand at £3/11/9 and £3/12/6, and Reserve Banks at £6/12/6. New Zealands sold late on Thursday at 49/9. Buyers yesterday were offering 49/9, but sellers were asking 50/6, lid. up on Thursday. Insurance shares were again firm, buyers of South British advancing their offers a further 3d. to £4/17/6, with no sellers in the market. Kaiapoi Woollens were done at 15/6 and 15/7, and Leyland O’Brien Timber at 21/6. New Zealand Breweries were firm with a sale late on Thursday nt 52/3. In the mining section Big Rivers changed hands at 2/1, King Solomons at 3/7, and Mount Morgans at 38/3. Wailiis were wanted at 39/6, holders asking 40/-.
