“BEAUTIFUL NORTHLAND”
“Beautiful Northland,” holiday inecca of ever-increasing numbers of New Zealanders and overseas sportsmen, is the subject of an attractive illustrated booklet written by Mr. A. T. Brainsby,. and published by the Northern Publishing Company, W'hangarei. On the title page the booklet is described as “an illustrated guide to the attractions, the historical interests, and the inviting resources of the North Auckland Peninsula.” It fully lives up to this description, and the author has (lone his part so well that the reader who has not already visited the north will surely not be content to merely promise himself to go there ‘'some day”—he will probably make it sooner than that. Mr. Brainsby has done more than to merely recount the north's scenic and sporting attractions. He provides some helpful information for the motorist, a particularly valuable section being devoted to a series of side trips. To anyone contemplating a visit to the north, the booklet is worth far .more than the modest shilling asked for it.
