Montreal. January 16. "We are not interested in July futures.” Mr. John 1. McFarland, general manager of the Central Selling Agency of Canadian Wheat Pools, stated when commenting on a slump in prices to-day on the Winnipeg Grain Exchange. “AU our. interests are in May. The price is pegged at 80 cents. It will stay there. Our purchases are for May delivery. We are going to take delivery then.” He was referring to wheat purchases in his operations carried on with a guarantee to ’liinks by the Dominion. May closed at 80 1-8 ecnls and July 81 i cents. London Lamb Market Feilding, January 17. The New Zealand Farmers’ Co-opera-tive Distributing Company. Feilding. has received the following cable from its London office ; —“Lamb slight, improvement. but business only moderate considering Australia’s intention to restrict shipments. Crosskeys primes continue to offer, January and February shipments bringing 7|d. c.i.f. Consider other New Zealand firms willing to sell at this price. Prospects good f or some weeks.” Bulolo Production Air. Fred. G. Dunn, Attorney for Clutha Development, Ltd., has received the following Bulolo production report for December: —For mouth of‘December total gross production from Dredges Nos. 1,2, 3, and 4, amounted to 14,919 ounces of bullion, containing 10.986 ounces of fine gold from 881,400 cubic yards. Estimated working profit 7777 ounces of tine gold. The above production is eqirvalmt to £93.381. and working profit to £66.104/10/- on the basis of £B/10/- (Aust.) per fine ounce of gold.
