Beach Costume Regulations STATEMENT IN VICTORIA Melbourne, January 16. "We have not found it necessary to make any such regulations for Victorian beaches,” said the Acting Premier (Mr. McFarlane), commenting on the New South Wales ordinance. A message published yesterday stated that the State Government was issuing an ordinance governing swimming costumes to be worn on New South Wales beaches. The woman’s brassiere costume and the man’s zipper costume that exposed a portion of the stomach and all costumes cut low in front or short in the legs were banned. Backless costumes were not banned. The regulations were enforceable ou September 1. POSITION AT SOUTHPORT Brisbane, January 16. “Southport has no intention of banning the brassiere and zipper costumes. I do not think them indecent.” said the Mayor of Southport,
