TRAINING AT FORT

Artillerymen Under Canvas To-morrow the loth Coast Battery, New Zealand Artillery, and a detachment of the 13th (Auckland) Coast Battery will go into camp at Fort Dorset for general training and to compete for the Hudson Clip. Yesterday about 25 officers and non-commissioned officers” arrived for a three days’ course before the main body of artillerymen arrive. Tents have been pitched on the flat ground behind the fort and during the ten days the men Will be under canvas they will undergo a fairly intensive course of training, relieved by bathing and a church parade on Sunday. It is intended to hold a night shoot preceded by three nights’ training. Tills will be the first night shoot for many years. During the daytime, toward the end of the course, the men will practise at targets towed by the Janie Seddon. Major R. S. Park, R.N.Z.A., is in command.
