MIRAMAR RESCUERS
Two Gasworks Employees The two men who jumped in ami rescued Donald Moult and William Patterson, two schoolboys, from the harbour near the Miramar Wharf on Tuesday evening were Messrs. C. J. McKnight and E. W. Smith, junior, two employees of the Wellington Gas Company. It is understood that Mr. McKnight has been engaged in four rescues from drowning near the Miramar Wharf. They were cycling to their homes after work when they saw the boys in the water and rushed to the rescue. Mr. Smith jumped straight in, but Mr. McKnight removed his boots before taking the water. Mr. Smith then sustained one of the boys, but was handicapped in his own movements by his boots, and with the help of Mr. McKnight the two boys were got ashore, and are now little the worse for their adventure.
Both the rescuers are members of the Worser Bay Life Saving Club.'
