2YA Endangered.—A grass and gorse fire, starting on the Oriental Bay side of Mount Victoria yesterday afternoon, quickly swept up the hillside under the influence of a fresh northerly breeze, and surrounded the 2YA transmission station with a sea of lire. The building, which is of reinforced concrete and stands between the masts, was totally obscured when this picture was taken. In the foreground is the fence surrounding the Roseneath service reservoir.
